JOB SUMMARY : Responsible for technical service duties required for customers or prospective customers. Supports assembly floor when not performing field service duties. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES : Responsible for proper machine installation, operation, and maintenance training. Duties include but are not limited to installation, start-up, operation, customer acceptance, installation-operator-maintenance training, maintenance, and troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, software components, and systems for all products. Field installation, integration, configuration, customization, and troubleshooting hydraulic and electrical controls to satisfy customer requirements. Provide routine periodic maintenance of controls and equipment as part of maintenance contracts or in response to Customer request. Responsible for selecting, contracting, supervising, and approving work of field subcontractors and/or casual labor required to assist or perform minor assembly, modification, or repair to products. Domestic and international travel from 40%-60% of work year, trips 2 to 4 weeks or longer, on short notice, by various commercial transportation modes, as necessary. Assists in preparation of service quotes. Improves Company collateral material (such as instruction and training manuals, presentations, reports, quotations, presentations), processes, and procedures. Satisfies Company attendance standards and performs in accordance with Company policies and procedures. Works additional hours as required by Customer needs. Holds a valid U.S. Passport and qualifies for foreign visas as required. Completes trip, expense, and other reports as required. Able to perform the physical requirements of the job function required during workday (see attached) without posing a direct threat to the safety and health of himself/herself or others in the workplace. Performs other work and other miscellaneous duties, as required. EXPERIENCE : Three (3) to five (5) years troubleshooting and servicing electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems and equipment installation, operation, maintenance, repair, retrofitting, rebuilding, and remanufacturing of complex hydraulic machinery and heavy mechanical equipment. One (1) to three (3) years with PC's, Microsoft Office Software, other business software and Internet skills. Two (2) years of programming and troubleshooting PLC and PC based control systems including Allen Bradley RSLogix's (5, 500, and 5000), PanelView and RSView 32 software. Prior field service experience/exposure is required. EDUCATION: Two-year degree in electrical, electronic or hydraulics. Secondary school diploma and related trade or technical school certification.
