PLACE OF WORK: Full scope of the property JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsible for the overall profitable management of the property. Also responsible for marketing, establishing community relations, record keeping, employee staffing and training, controlling inventory, maintaining the physical plant, as well as, coping with the unexpected problems of guests and employees. REPORTS TO: Director of Operations KEY RELATIONSHIPS: Internal: All hotel staff & all corporate employees External: Hotel guests, business community, employment/recruiting agencies, payroll representatives, hotel vendors SPECIFICATIONS: Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skill and/or abilities. To perform this job successfully, the incumbent will possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently. QUALIFICATIONS: Essential: 1. Previous management experience in hotel industry. Experience administering human resource functions including payroll. Knowledge of federal and state labor regulations. Knowledge of employee benefits processing. Ability to communicate in a positive, professional and effective manner with guests and hotel personnel to their understanding. Ability to provide legible communication. Ability to accurately compute mathematical calculations. Computer literate. Knowledge of budget preparation and cost controls. Desirable: 1. Ability to communicate in a second language. 2. Additional hospitality training. SKILLS: Essential: 1. Ability to enforce hotel's standards, policies and procedures. Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments and delegate responsibilities. Ability to direct performance of departmental staff and follow up with corrections where needed. Ability to promote positive work relationships with all departments. Ability to ascertain hotel training needs and provide such training. Ability to be a clear thinker, analyze and resolve problems exercising good judgment. Ability to focus attention to details. Ability to input and access information into a computers. Ability to remain calm and courteous with demanding/difficult employees and/or situations. Ability to perform job functions to standards under pressure of tense/confrontational situations. Ability to ensure security and confidentiality of employee and hotel information. Ability to work without direct supervision. Desirable: . 1.
